After several years of being in streaming limbo Ronald D. Moore’s Battlestar Galactica reboot will be coming to Paramount+ as well as Pluto TV in May. The Sy-Fy Channel series ranks as one of the best sci-fi TV shows of all time.
This will include the original 2003 miniseries (which served as a pilot for the show), all four seasons of its original run, and the 2009 spinoff movie The Plan. Paramount+ will also be exclusively streaming the 2010 prequel spinoff series Caprica. The release does not contain any news about the 2007 spinoff movie Razor or web series Blood and Chrome, which still remain in limbo.
Based on the Sci-Fi series created by Glen A. Larson in 1978, Battlestar Galactica was one of the 2000s’ most critically acclaimed series for its fearless use of sci-fi as an allegory for political issues of the day, starring Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell alongside a fleet of Canadian and British actors.
The complete series will be available on Paramount+ and Pluto TV beginning Friday, May 1st, joining those platforms’ robust collection of Star Trek content. Be sure check out the series composer Bear McCreary’s favorite iconic movie soundtracks which are available on Amazon Music.
