New Masters Of The Universe Trailer
The 1980s characters are back on the big screen in this new live-action fantasy spectacular starring Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man.
I Have The Power! Amazon MGM Studios has released the official trailer for their summer sci-fi fantasy spectacular, Masters Of The Universe – based on the characters created by Mattel – which you can watch in all its glory below!
Based on the Mattel characters, toys and the 1980s cartoon series by Filmation, the new Masters of the Universe is directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee, Kubo & The Two Strings) and is the first live-action film from the franchise in almost forty years, with the previous film adaptation released in 1987 starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor.
Decades in the making, the new film stars Nicholas Galitizine as Prince Adam, Prince of Eternia, who, after being separated from his home world of Eternia and hidden on Earth, is reunited with his Power Sword in his adult life to return home and fulfil his destiny to become He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe.
Camila Mendes (Teela), Jared Leto (Skeletor), Alison Brie (Evil-Lyn), Kristen Wiig (the voice of Roboto), Charlotte Riley (Queen Marlena), James Purefoy (King Randor), and Idris Elba (Mans-at-Arms) also star in the film, with rumours that Lundgren will also appear in a cameo.
Synopsis:
In Masters Of The Universe, after being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.
